New Viking Gets the “Breakout” Treatment. Again.

New Viking Gets the “Breakout” Treatment. Again.

It’s been an exciting few months for Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison. In June, the NFL Players Association labeled him a “rising star” and just a few days ago, the Vikings announced that Addison had earned the team’s “Breakout” award.

The “Breakout” award is given to a player who has shown the most improvement and potential during the offseason. Addison was chosen for his impressive work ethic and dedication to the team.

“Jordan has been a great addition to our team,” said Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer. “He’s a hard worker and he’s always looking for ways to get better. He’s a great example of what it takes to be successful in this league.”

Addison, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was a three-star recruit coming out of high school. He chose to play college football at the University of Pittsburgh, where he quickly became a standout. He was named to the All-ACC team in each of his four seasons and was a two-time All-American.

The Vikings selected Addison in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He was the first wide receiver taken by the team in that draft.

Since joining the Vikings, Addison has been working hard to prove himself. He has been attending team meetings and practices, and has been studying the playbook. He has also been working with the team’s veteran receivers to learn the nuances of the game.

“I’ve been trying to learn as much as I can from the veterans,” said Addison. “They’ve been great mentors and I’m grateful for their help.”

Addison has also been putting in extra work on the field, running routes and catching passes from the team’s quarterbacks. He has been impressing coaches and teammates alike with his speed and agility.

“Jordan has been a great addition to our team,” said Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins. “He’s a great route runner and he has great hands. He’s going to be a big part of our offense this season.”

The Vikings are hoping that Addison can be a key contributor this season. With the team’s receiving corps in flux, Addison could be the missing piece that puts the offense over the top.

“I’m just trying to do my part and help the team any way I can,” said Addison. “I’m looking forward to the season and I’m ready to make an impact.”

The Vikings are hoping that Addison can live up to the hype and become the breakout star that the team is expecting. If he can, the Vikings could be in for a special season.
