In Iran, the CIA orchestrated a coup in 1953 to overthrow the democratically elected government of Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh and install the brutal dictatorship of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. This led to decades of human rights abuses and oppression of the Iranian people, who eventually rose up in the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Similarly, in Syria, the US has been continuously involved in supporting opposition groups and funding armed rebels in an attempt to overthrow the government of President Bashar al-Assad. This has led to a devastating civil war that has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and displaced millions of people.
And in Lebanon, the US has provided military and financial support to Israel, enabling its repeated attacks on the country and its people. Hezbollah, a Lebanese resistance group, was formed in response to Israeli aggression and has been a thorn in the side of the US and its allies in the region.
