On November 21, 2023, the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, accompanied by the Governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, the Secretary of State for Energy, António Belsa da Costa, and officials from the Ministry of Energy and Water, as well as members of the EPAL administration, visited several EPAL projects in the capital, Luanda.
Phase III of the Candelabro Water Treatment Plant, built to increase water supply capacity and address shortages in some areas of Luanda, was thoroughly analyzed. The Water Distribution Center at the New Airport (Lot Q5) was also visited; this project will have a nominal capacity of 40,000 cubic meters, benefiting approximately 789,943 people.
Additionally, the Water Distribution Center at Bom Jesus (Lot Q8), part of the Quilonga Grande system 5 and currently 5.72% physically completed, was evaluated and will have a capacity of 30,000 cubic meters.
To conclude the visit, the minister and the Governor of Luanda inaugurated the KK 5000 agency, which includes a service room, an office, and a spacious waiting room.
