Sheinbaum requests to continue the Fourth Transformation to improve the situation of workers.

Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, emphasized the importance of workers’ prosperity for the overall well-being of the country and its entrepreneurs during the XV Ordinary National Congress of the Confederation of Autonomous Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM).

During the congress, Sheinbaum formalized a partnership with CATEM as part of efforts to integrate various sectors into the transformation of public life in Mexico. In her speech, she highlighted the positive moment the country is experiencing and the need to advance labor rights without reverting to past eras. She emphasized the shared goal of preventing a return to corruption and privileges and continuing with the Fourth Transformation.

In her inauguration of the Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation of CATEM, Sheinbaum reaffirmed her commitment to defending workers’ rights and wages, stressing the importance of collaboration with entrepreneurs. “We share a fundamental purpose: we do not want to return to the past of corruption and privileges, but rather continue with the Fourth Transformation of Mexico’s public life,” she stated.

“I am committed to continuing the defense of workers’ wages and benefits. Our commitment is to move forward together for the benefit of workers and our country,” she concluded.

Pedro Haces Barba, senator and general secretary of CATEM, praised the progress made in collaboration between the working class and the 4T government, such as the increase in the minimum wage and the elimination of subcontracting. “We are living through crucial times, which is why, from this congress, we reaffirm our commitment to the values of the Fourth Transformation,” Haces Barba said.

Senator Ricardo Monreal was also present, highlighting the importance of maintaining a positive relationship between workers and the government to continue expanding labor rights. “The pact and alliance must be made now, with Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo,” Monreal concluded at the XV National Congress of CATEM.
