“The well-being of Mexico’s workers is the well-being of our nation,” stated Claudia Sheinbaum.

MEXICO.- Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, highlighted the importance of collaboration between workers and employers for the country’s well-being during the 15th National Ordinary Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM). She emphasized the need to expand labor rights and avoid any regression to past practices.

In her speech, Sheinbaum Pardo stressed that aligning goals and objectives is vital to sustaining the transformation of public life in Mexico. She affirmed that the main focus should be on advancing the Fourth Transformation and preventing a return to periods of corruption and privilege.

After swearing in the first Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation of CATEM, Sheinbaum reiterated the commitment to ensuring a dignified life for workers, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the labor and business sectors—a vision championed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Pedro Haces Barba, senator and general secretary of CATEM, highlighted the achievements made possible through the cooperation between labor representatives and the 4T government, such as the increase in the minimum wage and the elimination of outsourcing. He stressed the need to guide every decision according to the principles of the 4T movement.

Senator Ricardo Monreal emphasized the importance of strengthening the relationship between workers and the government to continue expanding labor rights under Sheinbaum Pardo’s leadership.

The 15th National Congress of CATEM also featured prominent figures like Mario Delgado Carrillo, the national president of Morena, along with governors and representatives from various institutions, who expressed strong support for the principles and objectives of the gathering.
