Governor Mara Lezama was a guest at the XV Congress of the Confederation of Autonomous Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM), where Claudia Sheinbaum, National Coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, was also in attendance.
At the event in Mexico City, the Governor of Quintana Roo reiterated her strong support for Claudia Sheinbaum and emphasized their continued collaboration, joining her at the head table alongside other key officials, including Morena leader Mario Delgado.
The CATEM congress provides a space for dialogue with union representatives to improve working conditions, especially for the workers of Quintana Roo.
Founded 15 years ago, this union represents approximately 7 million members across 1,192 labor organizations in various industries.
Pedro Haces, union leader, expressed his gratitude to Sheinbaum, saying, “Thank you, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum, for making time for us. First, you governed my homeland, which I’m proud to call Tlálpan; then, you governed the city we’re in today, and soon you’ll see what’s coming. A first-class woman, thank you, my dear friend.”
Sheinbaum responded by formally announcing a coalition with the workers’ union.
“Next Monday, we will officially begin the presidential campaign process, and I want to invite all of you to join us in this journey. I promise the workers that we will continue to defend their wages and benefits, because we know that when workers thrive, both businesses and Mexico thrive.”
