Shivambu to deliver Africa Day lecture in Tembisa

Floyd Shivambu, joined by Nathi Nhleko, to speak in Tembisa on unity for Africa Day

On the 25th of May, Africa Day will be celebrated across the continent and around the world. This day marks the formation of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in 1963, which later became the African Union (AU) in 2002. It is a day to celebrate the diversity, unity, and progress of the African continent.

In celebration of this important day, two prominent leaders, Floyd Shivambu and Nathi Nhleko, will be speaking at a special event in Tembisa. The event, organized by the Tembisa Youth Forum, aims to promote unity and solidarity among Africans.

Floyd Shivambu, the Deputy President of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), is known for his strong stance on Pan-Africanism and the liberation of the African continent. He has been a vocal advocate for the economic and political emancipation of Africa and has been at the forefront of the fight against corruption and exploitation.

Nathi Nhleko, a former Minister of Police, is also a well-respected leader in the African community. He has been a strong advocate for social justice and has worked tirelessly to promote peace and stability in the continent. His experience in government and his passion for Africa make him a valuable voice in the discussion of unity and progress.

The event in Tembisa will be a platform for these two leaders to share their insights and ideas on how to achieve unity and solidarity among African nations. They will also discuss the challenges facing the continent and the role of young people in shaping the future of Africa.

The theme of the event, “Unity for Africa Day,” is a call to action for all Africans to come together and work towards a common goal of a united and prosperous continent. It is a reminder that despite our differences, we are all part of one African family and must stand together in the face of challenges.

The organizers of the event, the Tembisa Youth Forum, believe that the youth have a crucial role to play in building a better Africa. They are the future leaders and it is important for them to be actively involved in shaping the destiny of the continent. The event will provide a platform for young people to engage with the speakers and share their ideas on how to achieve unity and progress in Africa.

The event will also feature cultural performances, showcasing the rich diversity of African cultures. This will be a celebration of our heritage and a reminder of the beauty and strength of our continent.

As we celebrate Africa Day, let us remember the sacrifices of our forefathers who fought for our freedom and independence. Let us also reflect on the progress we have made as a continent and the challenges that still lie ahead. It is only through unity and solidarity that we can overcome these challenges and build a better future for generations to come.

The event in Tembisa is a step towards achieving this unity and solidarity. It is a call for all Africans to come together and work towards a common goal of a united and prosperous continent. Let us all join Floyd Shivambu and Nathi Nhleko in this important discussion and be part of the movement towards a better Africa.

In the words of Kwame Nkrumah, “I am not African because I was born in Africa, but because Africa was born in me.” Let us all embrace our African identity and work towards a brighter future for our beloved continent. Happy Africa Day!
