Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has announced that the appointment of a new coalition liaison officer will help strengthen relations with the African National Congress (ANC)’s coalition partners.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Lesufi emphasized the importance of maintaining strong relationships with the ANC’s coalition partners in order to effectively govern the province.
“We have always believed in the power of partnerships and working together with our coalition partners to deliver quality education to the learners of Gauteng,” Lesufi said.
The new coalition liaison officer, whose name has not yet been revealed, will be responsible for facilitating communication and cooperation between the ANC and its coalition partners, which include the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP).
Lesufi expressed his confidence in the new appointment, stating that it will help to ensure that the ANC-led government in Gauteng continues to deliver on its promises to the people.
“We are committed to working together with our coalition partners to address the challenges facing our education system and to improve the lives of our learners,” he said.
The MEC also acknowledged the important role that the EFF and IFP have played in the coalition government, stating that their input and support has been invaluable in driving positive change in the province.
“We are grateful for the support and cooperation of our coalition partners, who have been instrumental in helping us to achieve our goals and improve the education system in Gauteng,” Lesufi said.
The appointment of a coalition liaison officer comes at a crucial time for the ANC, as the party prepares for the upcoming local government elections. With the support of its coalition partners, the ANC hopes to secure a majority in key municipalities in Gauteng.
Lesufi stressed that the appointment is not only about strengthening relations with the coalition partners, but also about ensuring that the needs of the people are met.
“Our ultimate goal is to provide quality education to all learners in Gauteng, regardless of their background or political affiliation. This appointment will help us to achieve that goal,” he said.
The MEC also urged all political parties to put aside their differences and work together for the betterment of the province.
“We may have different political ideologies, but we all share the same goal of improving the lives of our people. Let us put aside our differences and work together for the benefit of our learners,” Lesufi said.
In conclusion, the appointment of a new coalition liaison officer is a positive step towards strengthening relationships and promoting cooperation between the ANC and its coalition partners. With this appointment, the ANC-led government in Gauteng is showing its commitment to working together with all political parties to deliver quality education and improve the lives of the people.
