New North Dakota State QB Makes Telling Comment Before First FBS Season

New North Dakota State Starting Quarterback Nathan Hayes Ready to Carry on Legacy of NFL-Bound Signal Callers

The North Dakota State football program has a rich history of producing top-notch quarterbacks who have gone on to achieve great success in the NFL. From Carson Wentz to Easton Stick, these talented signal callers have left a lasting legacy at NDSU and have set the bar high for future quarterbacks. And now, the newest addition to this prestigious list is none other than Nathan Hayes.

Hayes, a junior transfer from a Division II school, has been named the starting quarterback for the upcoming season. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound athlete has already made a name for himself with his impressive skills and leadership qualities. And as he steps into the role of starting quarterback, he is well aware of the expectations and pressure that comes with it.

But instead of feeling overwhelmed, Hayes is embracing the challenge and is determined to carry on the legacy of his predecessors. In an exclusive interview, he shared his thoughts on being the starting quarterback and his goals for the upcoming season.

“It’s an honor to be named the starting quarterback for such a prestigious program like North Dakota State,” Hayes said with a smile. “I know the history of this program and the legacy of the quarterbacks who have come before me. It’s a big responsibility, but I am ready to take it on and make my mark.”

Hayes is no stranger to success on the football field. In high school, he was a standout player, leading his team to multiple state championships. He then went on to play at the Division II level, where he continued to excel and caught the attention of NDSU’s coaching staff.

“I have always had a passion for football and have worked hard to improve my skills,” Hayes shared. “When I got the opportunity to transfer to NDSU, I knew it was a chance to take my game to the next level and compete with the best.”

And compete he did. Throughout the spring and summer practices, Hayes impressed the coaches with his arm strength, accuracy, and football IQ. He also showed great poise and leadership on the field, earning the respect of his teammates.

“Nathan has all the tools to be a successful quarterback at this level,” said head coach Matt Entz. “He has a strong arm, great vision, and a natural ability to lead. But what sets him apart is his work ethic and determination to be the best. We have no doubt that he will continue the tradition of producing top quarterbacks at NDSU.”

Hayes is well aware of the expectations that come with being the starting quarterback at NDSU. But instead of feeling the pressure, he sees it as an opportunity to prove himself and make his own mark in the program’s history.

“I have big shoes to fill, but I am ready for the challenge,” Hayes stated confidently. “I have learned a lot from watching and studying the past quarterbacks at NDSU, and I am ready to apply that knowledge on the field. My goal is to lead this team to another national championship and make my own legacy here.”

As the season approaches, Hayes is focused on fine-tuning his skills and building chemistry with his teammates. He knows that success on the field is a team effort and is determined to do his part to help the team achieve their goals.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to play for NDSU and to be a part of this amazing program,” Hayes expressed. “I am excited to see what we can accomplish as a team and to continue the tradition of producing top quarterbacks who go on to play in the NFL.”

With his talent, determination, and the support of his coaches and teammates, Nathan Hayes is ready to carry on the legacy of past NDSU quarterbacks and make his own mark in the program’s history. The future looks bright for this young quarterback, and fans can’t wait to see him in action on the field. Go Bison!
