Left wing political parties are not dying: Nyhontso

PAC President Mzwanele Nyhontso has called for a closer relationship between his party and the Azanian People’s Organisation (AZAPO). This statement comes as a beacon of hope for the future of South Africa, as these two parties have a shared history and common goals.

Speaking at a press conference held in Cape Town, Nyhontso emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration between the PAC and AZAPO. He stated that the two parties need to work together to achieve their mutual objectives of social and economic justice for all South Africans.

The PAC and AZAPO have a long-standing history of fighting against apartheid and colonialism in South Africa. Both parties played a significant role in the liberation struggle, with the PAC being one of the main organizers of the historic 1960 Sharpeville massacre and AZAPO being a key player in the Black Consciousness Movement.

Despite their shared history, the two parties have not always seen eye to eye. However, Nyhontso believes that it is time for them to put their differences aside and come together for the greater good of the country. He stated, “We have a common enemy, and that is poverty, inequality, and corruption. It is time for us to unite and fight against these issues together.”

Nyhontso also addressed the recent political landscape in South Africa, stating that the country is in desperate need of a strong opposition. With the ruling party facing numerous challenges and allegations of corruption, the PAC president believes that the time is ripe for the PAC and AZAPO to join forces and provide a credible alternative.

The call for unity between the PAC and AZAPO has been met with enthusiasm from both parties. AZAPO spokesperson, Funani ka Ntontela, expressed his party’s willingness to work with the PAC, stating that “unity is critical for the advancement of our struggle for true liberation and social justice.”

The PAC and AZAPO share similar ideologies, with both parties advocating for the redistribution of wealth and land to the black majority. They also share a vision of a truly democratic and non-racial South Africa, where all citizens have equal opportunities and access to basic services.

Nyhontso’s call for unity is not only limited to the political arena but also extends to the broader society. He believes that the PAC and AZAPO need to work together with other progressive organizations and civil society to address the challenges facing the country. This includes issues such as unemployment, poverty, and crime.

In conclusion, the call for a closer relationship between the PAC and AZAPO is a positive step towards building a united and prosperous South Africa. Both parties have a rich history of fighting against oppression and inequality, and by joining forces, they can continue to make a significant impact in the country. As Nyhontso stated, “We are stronger together, and it is time for us to unite and work towards a better future for all South Africans.”
