In a powerful display of female leadership and advocacy, the TIME Women of the Year Leadership Forum in Los Angeles featured Amanda Nguyen, Nazanin Boniadi, and Carin Giuliante on stage. Amanda Nguyen, the civil rights advocate and founder of the non-profit organization Rise, has been a champion for survivor rights and justice. Her work began when she was a college student, and she was sexually assaulted while studying abroad. Facing a lack of legal protection and support, she took matters into her own hands and drafted the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights. After successfully getting it passed in the US Congress, Nguyen founded Rise to empower survivors and advocate for their rights.

Joining Nguyen on the panel was actress and human rights activist Nazanin Boniadi.
