We need more businesses that not only focus on profits but also prioritize the well-being of our society,” he stated.
He also urged the private sector to partner with the government in addressing social challenges such as unemployment, poverty, and inequality. “We need to work together to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and create sustainable jobs for our people. This will not only benefit the economy but also contribute to a more just and equitable society,” Mashatile emphasized.
The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation, established in 2008, has been at the forefront of promoting social justice and human rights in South Africa. The Foundation’s Executive Director, Neeshan Balton, expressed his gratitude to Mashatile for his support and contribution to the event. “We are honored to have Mr. Mashatile as our keynote speaker today.
